Navigate VS&TD General FAQs
VS&TD is Vehicle Salvage and Theft Data within Navigate. It's where all former MIAFTR users will access their data from the Navigate portal.
The data helps monitor vehicles written off for insurance purposes, to help trace and recover stolen vehicles and to help detect fraud.
Navigate operates efficiently and securely on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Windows only), and Safari (macOS only). Please use the latest official version for the best experience. For more information relating to supported browsers for the Navigate portal, please click here.
When MIAFTR data was moved into Navigate in November 2025. We had previously advised customers they needed to find an alternative source for this information.
Yes, we have updated the Navigate Security Overview document for the latest VS&TD release.
The MIB has embedded security and privacy by design and have adopted a holistic approach that covers industry standards such as OWASP, ISO 27001 as well as data protection requirements, including the GDPR.
For further detail including infrastructure security, penetration testing, disaster recovery and certifications please access the MIB Navigate Security Overview document here.
We’ll provide updates on any planned enhancements and refinements directly on this page.
If you have a suggestion for an enhancement to the Navigate portal, use the contact support button in Navigate and select "General Query" from the Area of Issue drop down.
An Organisation ID in Navigate is what was previously known as “Subscriber Code” in the former MIAFTR.
It's a unique 7-digit number assigned to organisations which helps identify an Organisation and determine access rights for enquiring, supplying and updating claims.
If you have any queries please fill out a Contact Us form in Navigate.
All IDs associated with your Organisation, or that your Organisation has Delegated Authority to manage claims for, are accessible through your single Navigate portal log-in. you can switch between different Organisation IDs once logged into the Navigate portal.
If you need to make any changes to your Organisation's details, including name, or Supply codes & their statuses, please raise a request to MIB using the Contact Us button in Navigate.
No, in the Navigate portal, the allocation of Organisation IDs (previously known as Subscriber codes) is no longer possible.
You will have access to all Organisation IDs associated with your Organisation, or those your Organisation has Delegated Authority to manage claims for.
Navigate is designed for users to be able to self-serve and reset your own passwords independently. If you need further support please raise a Contact Us form.
No, existing users of the Navigate portal for MIPD will not need to do anything with their account, and will have access to VS&TD added from Go Live.
No, we’ll be updating your access as part of the MIAFTR user migration, so that you can access both MIPD and VS&TD tiles in the Navigate portal using your single login from Go-Live.
When you log in and complete two-factor authentication (2FA), our MIB Services can remember your device for up to 28 days. This means you won’t be asked for 2FA again during that time if you’re using the same device and browser.
However, this only works if your browser allows MIB Services to save a small file called a cookie. Some organisations have browser settings that block or delete these cookies, for example, if your browser clears cookies when you close it or if you’re using private/incognito mode. In those cases, MIB Services won’t be able to remember your device, and you may be asked for 2FA each time you login.
If this is happening, please reach out to your IT team. They can help check your browser settings or advise on your organisation’s security policies.
The Organisation Administrator (Org Admin) from your own organisation is responsible for managing users.

Organisation Administration (Org Admin) Training
Every organisation that uses Navigate - big or small - has at least one Organisation Administrator (Org Admin), who's responsible for managing their organisation's users in the Navigate portal.
The Org Admin is an equivalent role to that of a ‘Management User’ in the former MID and MIAFTR systems - and for many organisations will be the same person.
This page shares all the information Organisation Administrators (Org Admins) need to help support their Navigate users.
